Fulfillment Bodhisattva
Fulfillment Bodhisattva
Posing beside the Sakyamuni are Wisdom Bodhisattva and Fulfillment Bodhisattva, the former represents “great wisdom” and the latter assumes the role of “universal virtue”.
The Fulfillment Bodhisattva made ten great vows that pave the way to the full Buddhahood. He preaches that wisdom must be put into practice so as to benefit all living beings. The elephant on which he rides nods in agreement with its master’s teachings. Buddha on the magic creature expresses dynamics, and their textures blend together seamlessly. The weighted back of the elephant is highlighted, revealing the magnificent spirit of this guardian, standing as a partner vis-à-vis with the Wisdom Bodhisattva.
