Fulfillment and Prosperity
Fulfillment and Prosperity
The artwork features seven boars adorned with totems, symbolizing wealth accumulation, along with several round bamboo woven balls that represent a prosperous land.
Boars have been considered as having high economic value in traditional cultures. They are particularly important to the indigenous peoples because they are indispensable offerings and gifts in rituals such as weddings, funerals, celebrations, and ancestral worships. For residents of Taoyuan, bamboo is an important material with which their ancestors built their homes when they first settled in the area.
In the face of plastic pollution in the modern days, the utilization of bamboo as an alternative material for daily necessities presents a wise and environmentally friendly choice. The boars represent a species that converse with the land. By incorporating these elements, the artwork encourages viewers to reflect on issues of environmental protection and sustainable management.
