Under the Sun
Under the Sun
Inspired by the totems of the Atayal people, the V-shape of the structure in this bamboo weaving installation is inspired by the rhombus common in Atayal cloth patterns, and then the totems are woven into the bamboo with red and white woven ropes. The V-shaped bamboo structure is streamlined, one side meets the water and the other side extends towards the sky. These two V shapes create the sacred rhombus representing the sun in Atayal totems. Benches will also be set up under each V shape for visitors to rest in the shade and enjoy the views of Dahanxi Riverside Park. The audience is invited to rest on the works, and at the same time, they can get to know the style and culture of the Atayal people.
