In 1980, he participated in the 4th Golden Rhythm Awards and became the only male winner of that year. Before officially entering the music scene, he used to be a resident singer in a Western restaurant. He was good at singing Chinese, Taiwanese, English and Japanese songs, which also inspired him to write Quite a few songs.
Since 1991, albums such as "Actually I Don't Want to Give Up", "Four Friends", "Persistence", and "Collect" have been released successively. Among them, the song "A Little Bit Every Day" in the "Perseverance" album was shortlisted for the 1992 Golden Melody Award for Best Lyricist Award.
